LADIES INTERFAITH LUNCHEON
Grace will host the meeting of the Ladies Interfaith group tomorrow, Thursday, October 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Please park in the Dartmouth lot. A NEW WAY TO HELP!
Recent legislation enacted new fees for certain immigration applications. The application for asylum used to be free, as a benefit for those fleeing persecution. Now, it is $100 per year. Before an applicant can legally work, they must wait six months to apply for a work permit. This used to be a free application; now it is $550. Grace Urban Development has started a fund to help local people pay these fees. If you are able, please consider contributing to this fund or sharing about it with others. JAIL COALITION MEETING
On Saturday, October 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the IUE-CWA Union Hall, 313 S. Jefferson St., the Montgomery County Jail Coalition will hold an in-person collaborative strategy session to develop the next phase of the coalition’s work.
