Please plan to stay after worship on Sunday, August 16, for a Lunch and Learn about the Middle East and our Christian response. Rev. John Wagner, who started working with Palestinian Christians in 2008, will be the presenter. He’s traveled to Israel, the West Bank, and the border to Gaza a number of times. He’s also worked within the United Methodist Church to ensure the denomination uses its resources to help bring peace and justice to the region.
We are currently planning a carry-in lunch, and if you are interested, you can bring a Palestinian dish to share. Many recipes come up with a Google search; HERE is one website. Or, go to a Halal market or Lebanese (or any Middle East) restaurant near you and pick up something. Or, bring our usual United Methodist carry-in favorites!
