The HOPE and Justice Ministries met Sunday, May 18, after worship. A lunch was provided by Dayton Cooks!, and the guest speaker was Benjamin Fisher, a member of the Montgomery County Jail Coalition. He shared the video of the press conference called by the family of Christian Black, whose death in the Montgomery County Jail has been called a homicide by the County Coroner. We viewed the video of the last minutes of Mr. Black’s life, and then wrote letters to his family, Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck, members of the County Commission, or Governor DeWine. Many prayers are needed to find hope and justice in this tragic event.
