SUNDAY AT GRACE
On Sunday, we continued the Keys to the Kingdom sermon series with the message “Follow God’s Invitation to Elevate Your Ways and Your Thoughts”. The message and music were based on the scripture from Isaiah 55:1-9. If you would like to watch the service, click HERE for the Grace Church Dayton channel of YouTube. Before worship, the Sabbath Study explored the 1960’s racial turmoil in Dayton. It was good to learn this part of our city’s history, since most of the class members didn’t live in Dayton at the time. And it was good to see the “Hate Bridge” become the “Peace Bridge”.
After the service, there was a congregational meeting. The urgency of the financial situation of Grace and the necessity of making some immediate and possibly painful changes were emphasized by the hard-working Leadership Team. Watch this space for more information about what these changes might be and where and when to attend listening sessions.
LARRY THOKEY MEMORIAL SERVICE
You are invited to celebrate the life of Larry Thokey on Tuesday, March 25, at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Larry was a long-time member of Grace and participated with gusto in the choir, Grace by Heart, the Men’s Breakfast, and Sunday School. If you are able, please bring some refreshments to share. PALM SUNDAY CHOIR!
There will be a choir during worship on Palm Sunday, April 13, and YOU are invited and needed to sing! There will be rehearsals on Wednesdays, March 26, April 2, and April 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Ladies’ Parlor. Please come—our leader, Lois Ramey, makes it fun for everyone, even if you have little or no singing experience. Join in!
