This Sunday, May 19, is Pentecost. It’s 50 days after Easter, and is sometimes called the church’s birthday, because it was the day the disciples received the Holy Spirit. Come to learn more about it and to experience it for yourself! Tongues of flame make red the color of the day, so please wear red! Volunteers are needed to bring red banners in at the beginning of the service, so plan to help if you can! If you aren’t able to be there in person, attend in spirit by going here for the Grace Church Dayton channel of YouTube.

As always, the study of The Color of Compromise will be in the Blue Room at 9:15 a.m., and coffee and fellowship will be in the Ladies’ Parlor at 10:00.

What does God want for the future of Grace Church? How can we discover what it is and how we can make it happen? Here is a proven strategy we can learn about as a congregation. A training session is scheduled on Saturday, May 18, from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Grace. Everyone is invited!

This training will help us understand how a simple, additive component of “breakthrough prayer” can be incorporated into what already happens in the daily and weekly prayer life of our congregation–plus how to create and introduce it. We will also be provided with many stories, practical examples, and ideas from other churches to show how this initiative has worked for them.

Please contact Roberta Longfellow at longfellowroberta@yahoo.com to join the group!

A “Celebration of Life” memorial service for Elizabeth “Betty” Martel will be held in the Wholeness of Life Center in Crescent Crossing, Bethany Village, Centerville, at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 18. Attendees are encouraged to wear bright flowery colors, as Betty especially enjoyed wildflowers. To see her obituary, click here.
