How You Can Help

Grace Church and the greater United Methodist Church provide many opportunities for helping by which one may glorify God and be a blessing to humanity. Please see our Missions page for more.

Grace’s Great Garden

street signsGrace’s great garden is at the corner of Bellevue and Manhattan Avenues, only a few blocks from Grace. Ours is the plot in the back, on the left. We are planting with raised beds; all materials are being hauled in.

We started with tomatoes and peppers and planted with more veggies in early June. We need volunteers to help plant, water and just generally check in. You meet great people in the garden!

For more information, contact Carol York.

School Bags and Health Kits

The United Methodist Women of Grace Church announces that once again, our organization is preparing 100 School Bags and 50 Health Kits for needy children in the U.S. and worldwide. These items are sent wherever needed all over the world for school children and flood victims. They must be ready to take to the October 9 Festival of Sharing at Otterbein College in Westerville. Our church bargain hunters have been busy scooping up all the late summer school supply deals. Most of the supplies have been purchased at fantastic sale prices by some members of Grace.

Each Health Kit includes these items:

  • one hand towel (16” by 28”)
  • one washcloth
  • one nail clipper
  • six band-aids (3/4 or 1 inch wide)
  • one wide-tooth comb
  • one bath size bar of soap
  • one tooth brush
  • gallon size plastic bags with zipper closer

Each School Kits includes these items:

  • one pair of blunt scissors
  • three 70-page single-subject notebooks
  • one 12” ruler with metric scale
  • one pencil sharpener
  • one large pink eraser
  • one box of 24 crayons
  • six #2 pencils

Money is needed to reimburse our bargain hunters and for postage to get these School Bags and Health Kits to people who need them. Be a part of this Mission -- a sharing of God’s love -- by your contribution of money or items. Fifteen dollars will pay for one Book Bag or one Health Kit. Please make checks payable to Grace United Methodist Church with the notation of “School Bags.” Thank you for helping with this Mission Project.

For information, please contact Mary-Ann White, UMW Mission Chair.
